Mr. Richard Paul Harris, age 56, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at LewisGale Hospital, Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was the husband of Michele Warlitner Harris.

Mr. Harris was born July 8, 1957 in Welch, WV, the son of Rev. Paul Cassidy Harris and Patricia Walker Harris, both of Covington, VA.

He was employed by MeadWestvaco as a second assistant in the Woodyard for twenty-three years and was a member of the Covington Paperworkers Union.

Richard was of the Methodist faith.

He enjoyed watching Hokie football and NASCAR racing.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Harris is survived by one son, David Paul Harris of Covington; three daughters, Jessica Watson Sykes and husband, Matt, Kate Watson Hoke and husband, Patrick, Carmen Watson Landis and husband, Ethan, all of Covington; four grandchildren, Quinten Harris, Karlie Hoke, Kenzie Ward and Konner Hoke; one brother, Brian C. Harris and wife, Danielle of Richmond; one nephew, Andrew Harris; and one niece, Brianna Harris.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
