Ellen Bernice Clark Murphy, age 71, of 849 Lick Run Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia, and 500 Shanabarger Road, Philippi, West Virginia, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at her daughter's residence.

She was born May 7, 1942 in Iron Gate, Virginia, to the late Louis Lemme and Beulah Marie Knick Clark.

She was retired from the C & P Telephone Central Office as a technician.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Henry Murphy; a sister, Frances Bartlett; and two brothers, William "Bill" Clark and Alvin J. Clark.

She is survived by a daughter, Theresa Goldberg and husband, Keith of Eagle Rock; a step son, George H. Murphy, Jr. and wife, Tammy of Flemington, WV; a brother, Robert L. Clark and wife, Sharon of Clifton Forge; a grandson, Keith Allen Goldberg II of Eagle Rock; and nieces and nephews, Benny Bartlett, Jackie Bartlett, Robbie Clark and Kawanna Clark Haynes.

A funeral service will be conducted at a later date at the Wright Funeral Home in Philippi, West Virginia.
