Retired DSLCC Employee Was Sharon Baptist Church Member

Hattie Edna Muterspaugh Knick, age 85, of 449 Riverview Lane, Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Friday, February 21, 2014 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born May 3, 1928 in Alleghany County, Virginia, to the late William Ollie and June Virginia Clark Muterspaugh.

She was retired from the administration department at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church.

She loved crafts, cooking, farming and her pets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Marion Knick in 1993 and a step granddaughter, Bonnie Marie Woolwine.

She is survived by two daughters, Lana Harlow and husband, Wayne of Eagle Rock, and Amber Nelson and husband, Charlie "Chuck" Nelson of Talcott, West Virginia; a brother, Boyd Muterspaugh and wife, Phyllis of Nicelytown, Clifton Forge; four grandchildren, Michael Harlow, Laura Nelson Frango, Charlie L. Nelson, Jr., and Mark Allen Nelson and wife, Dana; four great grandchildren, Nathan Nelson, Kaylee Harlow, Christopher Nelson and Joshua Nelson; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Nancy Nicely.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Moore officiating.

The family would like for family and friends attending the service to join them for a time of fellowship at the Lone Star Advent Christian Church Family Life Center following the service.

There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call any time at the home of Lana and Wayne Harlow, 422 Riverview Lane, Eagle Rock, Virginia.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Lone Star Advent Christian Church Family Life Building Fund, 4704 Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
