Charlton Lebo McElroy, 65, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Born on August 20, 1948 at the original Stonewall Jackson Hospital, son of the late James V. McElroy and Ruth Donald McElroy.

Mr. McElroy was a member of of the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church and was an avid outdoorsman, a sports fanatic, and enjoyed listening to music. He also served in the United States Air Force.

Surviving Lebo are his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia G. McElroy; two sons, Matthew Charlton McElroy and wife, Sharron, and Michael James McElroy and wife, April; granddaughter, Adleigh Mae McElroy; step-grandson, Alex Perkins; special cousins, Carolyn Manspile, Becky Wheeler, and Denise Cocke.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church with Rev. George Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the Buena Vista Presbyterian Church.
