Mr. Daniel Rubin Brackenrich, age 89, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Woodlands, Clifton Forge.

He was the husband of the late Pansy Vance Brackenrich.

Mr. Brackenrich was born May 13, 1924 in West Virginia, the son of the late Charlie Brackenrich and Sallie Thomas Brackenrich.

He was employed as a laborer by Westvaco before his retirement.

Daniel was a member of Cornerstone Church of God of Prophecy.

He was a beekeeper and loved being outdoors taking care of his bees, gardening and his flowers.

Mr. Brackenridge is survived by three sons, Gary L. Brackenridge and wife, Tanya of Covington, Michael R. Brackenridge and Patricia Tucker of Hematite and Donald Ray Brackenridge; three daughters, Penelope "Penny" Angel of Winchester, Patsy Bowen and Barbara Hoke, both of Covington; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Underwood of West Virginia; a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Sandra Broughman.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Brackenridge was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Cornerstone Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Charles Russell officiating, assisted by Travis Hoke. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mackenzie Bowen, Jason Brackenridge, Chris Angel, Travis Hoke, Billy Kidd, and Richard Mansell. The family will receive friends on Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Cornerstone Church of God of Prophecy.
