Obituary for Clarence Edward Wilmore, Sr. Clarence Edward Wilmore, Sr.
Worked With Iron Gate Public Works Department Over 20 Years

Clarence Edward Wilmore, Sr., age 83, of 116 Market Avenue Iron Gate, Virginia, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his residence.

He was born March 6, 1931 in Iron Gate, Virginia, to the late Roy Scott and Allie Terry Wilmore.

He was a retired laborer with over twenty years of service to the Town of Iron Gate Public Works Department.

He was a member of Iron Gate Baptist Church and the Iron Gate Volunteer Fire Department.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and like to fish and hunt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Wilmore and three sisters, Clara Switzer, Frances Deisher, and Annie Rose.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Lee Rose Wilmore of Iron Gate; two daughters, Tammy Caldwell and husband, Frankie of Clifton Forge and Nancy Mae Wilmore of Iron Gate; a son, Clarence E. "Junior" Wilmore, Jr. of Iron Gate; a grandson, Frankie "Little Frankie" Caldwell, Jr. of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Steve Vess.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Iron Gate Hill Cemetery, Iron Gate with Reverend Victor Nicely officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

Pallbearers will be Paul Guy, Michael Atkins, Brian Atkins, Donald Angle, Frankie Caldwell and Joe Sammons.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
