Mr. Dennis Carwell Morris, age 85, of Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the Highland House, Clifton Forge.

He was the husband of Mary Davis Morris.

Mr. Morris was born December 23, 1928 in the Callaghan area of Alleghany County, the son of the late Burnard Morris and Lottie May Thompson Morris.

Dennis moved to Richmond in 1950, where he was employed as a construction carpenter until his return to this area in 1991.

He enjoyed music and especially liked playing the guitar.

Dennis also enjoyed being outdoors and loved animals.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Morris is survived by three sons, Steve Morris and wife, Maria of Satellite Beach, FL, Buck Morris and wife, Kyong of Williamsburg and Tony Morris and wife, Terry of Richmond; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morris was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Palestine Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Loving Funeral Home.
