Obituary for Thomas Edgar Linkenhoker, Jr. Thomas Edgar Linkenhoker, Jr.
Westvaco Retiree Was Former Virginia National Guard Member

Mr. Thomas Edgar Linkenhoker, Jr., age 75, of Hot Springs, Virginia, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor.

He was the husband of Barbara Warlitner Linkenhoker.

Mr. Linkenhoker was born March 23, 1939 in Eagle Rock, the son of the late Thomas Edgar Linkenhoker, Sr. and Elsie Dillon Linkenhoker.

Thomas was employed by Westvaco for forty-one years, starting in the woodyard and retiring as the foreman on #6 and #8 paper machines.

He served for a number of years in the Virginia National Guard.

Mr. Linkenhoker enjoyed hunting and fishing. An avid family man, Thomas loved spending time with his family especially loading his grandchildren into his cart and riding them around the yard.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Linkenhoker is survived by one son, Thomas E. "Tommy" Linkenhoker; three daughters, Jennifer L. Lockhart and husband, Lance, Denise L. Tingler and husband, Chucky, and Valerie L. Williams and husband, Wayne; six grandsons, Joshua Linkenhoker, Benjamin W. Williams, Jeremy T. Linkenhoker, Jacob L. Lockhart, Charles D. Linkenhoker, and Ryan T. Lockhart; three granddaughters, Ashley A. Linkenhoker, Kimberly A. Crush, and Megan A. Lockhart; five great grandchildren, Catherine J. Linkenhoker, Macy A. Crush, Lilly M. Linkenhoker, Deacon James Linkenhoker and Annistyn L. Dewberry; five brothers, Carl E. Linkenhoker, Curtis L. "Jess" Linkenhoker, Lewis A. Linkenhoker and wife, Janey, Ronald G. Linkenhoker and wife, Janet, and Gary W. Linkenhoker and wife, Nina; two sisters, Brenda M. Cartwright and Gay Megginson and husband, Eddie; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Linkenhoker was preceded in death by one son, Michael E. Linkenhoker; one brother, Donald E. Linkenhoker; and one sister, Linda L. Craig.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Merrell officiating. Entombment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
