Obituary for Gordon William Reynolds, Sr. Gordon William Reynolds, Sr.
Lifelong Construction Worker Was Sharon Baptist Church Member

Gordon William Reynolds, Sr., 69, of 421 Verge Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday May 24, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Alleghany County, Virginia, on November 10, 1944, a son of the late Henry Lee and Bertha Rebecca Rutherford Reynolds.

He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, a construction worker throughout his life, and loved to hunt and fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Faye Morgan Reynolds in March of 1996, a son, Don William Reynolds; two sisters, Mary Kathryn Reynolds and Beulah Griffin; two brothers, Edgar Reynolds and Dallas Reynolds. He is survived by three daughters: Tammy Reynolds and companion, Roger Crane, of Covington, Julie Nicely and companion, Mike McFalls, of Goodview, Rebecca Little and husband, Chuck, of Clifton Forge; one son, Gordon W. Reynolds, Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Iron Gate; one brother, James Reynolds of Millboro; ten grandchildren: Ethan Crawford, Kenneth Little, Austin Little, Dakota McFalls, Tonya Myers, Logan Reynolds, Kara Reynolds, Gene Smith, Victoria McFalls, Tony Nicely, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Colton Smith, and Aiden Morgan.

Survivors also include two sisters-in-law, Dottie Nicely and husband, Junior of Clifton Forge and June Reynolds Nicely, of Clifton Forge; four brothers-in-law: Calvin Griffin, of Iron Gate, Robert Morgan and wife, Vicky of Clifton Forge, Stevie Morgan of New York, and Wesley Smith and wife, Starlit of Glen Wilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Reverend Ed Wold, Reverend Doug Moore, and Reverend Eric Gabbert officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery in Clifton Forge. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence of 421 Verge Street Clifton Forge.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions in his memory to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.
