Mary Mame Robinson, 71, of Fairfield, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014.

She was born June 30, 1942, in Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Emma Coleman Layton.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and retired from the State Department Federal Credit Union.

Surviving Mrs. Robinson are her beloved husband of 50 years and three months, Johnny L. "Jake" Robinson Sr.; her son, Johnny L. Robinson Jr.; her daughter, Sherry Lynn Robinson Chapman; brothers, Isaac Layton Sr. and wife, Roberta, Robert "Bob" Layton, Richard Layton; sisters, Nellie Lees and Lucille Pease and husband, Les; grandson, Jonathan Nicholas "Nick" Robinson; and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she was always especially fond of and treated like her own children. In addition she leaves behind many special friends and church family members.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Bishop C. Anthony Caputo officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
