Botetourt Native Dies In Chesapeake At Age 86

Mildred Marie Hyler Pleasants, 86, of 2100 Miller Avenue, Chesapeake, Virginia, went home to join "The Family Circle" on June 9, 2014 at her home.

She was born on March 1, 1928 in Botetourt County, Virginia, a daughter of the late Rodney Joseph and Irene Purvis Lane Hyler.

Mildred was the most loving wife, mama and daughter ever, and Mama, you will surely be missed, but never forgotten.

She loved all her family and she had a special place in her heart for all the little animals. I love you, Mama!

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leroy Manuel "Sugar" Pleasants in June of 2011; a loving son, David Rodney Pleasants; three brothers, Thomas J. Hyler, Willie R. Hyler, and Bobby L. Hyler; and two sisters, Hessie K. Hyler and Shirley Lane.

She is survived by her loving son, Ronald Keith Pleasants of Chesapeake; sister, Sylvia Brown of Greenville, NC; a brother, Jimmy Desimons of Plainville, CT; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews; and many special friends and neighbors.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to our extended family of the Compassionate Care Hospice.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon Baptist Church, Clifton Forge with the Reverend Eric Gabbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery in Clifton Forge. The family received friends Thursday evening at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge.
