Ronald Wilson Byers, 77, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014. Born on September 13, 1936 in Buena Vista, he was the son of the late Homer Byers and Merel Coleman Byers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Byers.
Surviving Mr. Byers are his loving wife, Betty J. Byers; two sons, Tim Byers and Ron L. Byers and wife, Kim; a brother, Meredith Byers; a sister, Audrey Congdon; grandchildren, Jason Byers, Brooke Goff and husband Mike, Caitlin Long and husband, Sterling; great-grandchildren, Noah Byers and Deondre Long.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Geraldine Lawrence and family; and also to the many other friends and family of Ronald's.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Butch Grow officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
