Michael Layne Simmons, Age 48 of 119 Crestborn Drive, Goodview, Virginia, died Friday August 1, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was Born January 10, 1966 in Covington, Virginia, to Martha J. Simmons and the late Luther Layne Simmons.

He was owner and operator of Mike's Towing and Repo Service in Goodview Va.

He loved mud bogging, hunting and trips to the beach.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Bessie Simmons and Lee and Daisie Boguess.

He is survived by his mother Martha J. Simmons of Covington; two sons, Adam M. Simmons of Dublin fiancee, Darrell Via of Covington; also a niece and nephew and a number of close friends.

A funeral service will be held on Monday August 4, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Hartsfield officiating.

Interment will be in the Lone Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at Nicely Funeral Home.
