Weldon John Smith, Sr., age 74 of 800 West Ridgeway Street, Scott Hill Apartments, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

He was born November 23, 1939 in Illinois to the late John Charles and Janet Schmerein Smith.

He was a graduate of Wesleyan University, Washington and Lee Law School, and the University of Chicago Business School, and was a self-employed finance attorney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Bryan Rhodes Smith.

He is survived by a daughter, Bryanna Smith of Covington; a son, Weldon John Smith, Jr. of Richmond; a sister, Colby Millspaugh of Hillsboro, New Hampshire; and a brother-in-law, Edgar Rhodes of Columbia, Maryland.

There will be no services at this time.
