Obituary for Michael Leon Parks Michael Leon Parks
Former Truck Driver Was West Virginia Native

Michael Leon Parks, 58 of Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born September 21, 1955, in West Virginia, a son of Freddy Parks of Clifton Forge and the late Eunice Clark Parks.

In addition to his Mother, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Taylor Fridley in 2013.

Michael was formerly employed by Byer, Harmon and Johnson as a truck driver. He liked sitting on his porch listening to music, putting model cars together and loved his family.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Michaelene Parks of Covington; his son, Scottie Via and his wife, Brandi, of Clifton Forge; four step sons, Anthony Fridley and his wife, Christy, of Johnson City, TN; Jeremy Fridley and his wife, Donna, of Clifton Forge; Eric Fridley of Johnson City, TN, and Travis Fridley of Clifton Forge; 12 grandchildren including T.J. Fridley and Kylie Church; 3 great grandchildren and his close friend, Doris Reynolds, of Clifton Forge.

In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.

The funeral service was held Friday evening, August 20, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Will Bowen officiating.
