Ruth Naomi (Nancy) Steele Griffin, age 70, of 100 Nicholas Drive, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

She was born December 10, 1943 in Delaware, a daughter of the late Paul H. Steele, Sr. and Ruth Naomi Davis Steele.

She was a homemaker throughout her life, and enjoyed taking long country rides. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, being outside, and her watching her shows.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Griffin in August of 2002, and a son Douglas Shane.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Shane, and Wayne Kincaid and Meggan, of Iron Gate; sister, Phyllis; brother Paul H. Steele, Jr.; five grandchildren, Jordan, Jenna, Erica, Eric, and Ryver; and her special friend and companion, Charles Salalila.

A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with Reverend Lester Kennedy officiating. Interment followed in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family received friends on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the service at Nicely Funeral Home.
