Homemaker Was Warm Springs Presbyterian Church Member

Phyllis Elisabeth Thompson Zollner Knight, age 79, of 378 Knollwood Drive, Troutville, VA, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born September 3, 1935 in Palmyra, Virginia, to the late Frank Gault and Etta Elisabeth Loving Thompson.

She was a homemaker and a member of Warm Springs Presbyterian Church.

She was an avid bowler, and loved sewing, gardening, watching the Washington Redskins, playing with her dog "Toto", and being a mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Z. Cornwell and a brother, Frank Thompson, Jr.

She is survived by three daughters, Angela Kelly and husband, John of Blandon, PA, Carla Zollner of Salem, and Teresa Zollner Ryder of Troutville; two sons, Richard Zollner and wife, Jaynette of Lone Tree, CO and Michael Zollner and wife, Nancy of Stafford; fifteen grandchildren, Joshua Kelly, Emily Kelly, Rachael Tabbal, Ben Zollner, Tim Zollner, Michael Zollner, Jr., Amy Burrell, Andrew Zollner, Justin Zollner, Alex Zollner, Matthew Stafford, Kalvin Cornwell, Allison Cornwell, Richard Ryder and Holly Ryder; eleven great grandchildren; one niece; and special friends, Faye and Harley Cox.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Jay Robinette officiating.

Interment of cremains will be made in Union Chapel Cemetery in Hot Springs, VA at a later time.

The family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
