Retired Store Clerk At Clifton Forge 7-11 Dies At Age 83

Edna Fay Morris Shrewsbury, age 83 of The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at The Woodlands.

She was born May 25, 1931 in Beards Fork, West Virginia, to the late Eugene R. and Yula Fay Robinson Morris.

She was a retired store clerk for the former 7-Eleven Convenience Store in Clifton Forge.

She loved playing the piano, reading, and collecting owls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Harold Shrewsbury, Sr. in 1982; a daughter, Donna Terry; two granddaughters; and a special friend, Charlie Marshall.

She is survived by four daughters, Fay Morris and husband, "Doody" of Clifton Forge, Nancy Trent and husband, Freddie of Hardy, Terry Downey and husband, Ezekiel Downey I of Clifton Forge, and Diana Shrewsbury of Clifton Forge; a son, Eddie Shrewsbury and wife, Trish of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Gloria Mooney of West Virginia, Betty Griffith of Indiana, and Jenny Phillips of West Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of The Woodlands for the excellent care Mrs. Shrewsbury received there.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Roger Bush officiating.

Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Active pallbearers will be Ezekiel Downey II, Nathan Stanley, Daniel Stanley, Brian Duff, Tyler Duff, Joseph Terry, and Elwood Deisher. Rusty Clark and Landon Clark will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family received friends on Wednesday evening at Nicely Funeral Home.
