Jean A. Patterson, 77, of Glasgow, Virginia, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

A daughter of the late Ted and Eloise Arehart of Fairfield, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Patterson Jr.

Jean attended school in Fairfield, and worked for many years at the county maintenance garage and she helped set up the E911 system for the county. She also worked for many years at Keydet General Motel.

Jean had a great love for all of her grandchildren, great grandchild, and all of her animals.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by her sons, Michael and wife, Penny of Buena Vista, Raymond B. Patterson III and his partner, Anne Bassuk, both of Richmond; a brother, Bobby Arehart and wife, Brenda of Fairfield; five grandchildren, Evan and wife, Toosday, Warren, Jake, Emma, Will Patterson and their mother, Lynette Johnson; and one great granddaughter, Micha Jean Patterson.

She also leaves behind very special family friends, Butch and Theresa Grant, Johnny Higgins; and all of her family within the Rockbridge County System; and her new canine friend, Hans.

A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Falling Spring Presbyterian Church with the Pastor Ken officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 Friday, October 3, 2014 at Harrison Funeral Home.
