U. S. Navy Veteran Was Former Bacova Guild Printer, First Church Of God In Christ Member

Wilbert Ronald Crawley, age 64, of 600 Commercial Ave, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at The Golden Living Center in Clifton Forge.

He was born May 16, 1950 in Charlotte Court House, Virginia, to Pauline Gaines and the late Roderick Crawley.

He served in the United States Navy for two tours in the Vietnam War and was a member of the Curtis A. Smith VFW Post #1033.

He was a former printer at Bacova Guild and a member of First Church of God in Christ.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Denise Barber Crawley of Clifton Forge; his mother, Pauline Gaines of Drakes Branch; three daughters, Michelle Crawley of Richmond, Anita Neville of Danville and Chanti Yancey of Clifton Forge; two sons, Malcolm Crawley of Florida and Wilbert Neville of Danville; five brothers, Samuel T. Gaines of Washington D.C., James L. Hicks of Indiana, Edward R. Gaines of Clifton Forge, George Gaines of Lunenburg, and Larry Gaines of New York; nine grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; and special friend, Velma Jeffries.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Church of God in Christ, Clifton Forge with Elder Leon Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at the church.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements.
