Obituary for Bobbie Joe Tucker Bobbie Joe Tucker
Former MeadWestvaco Beater Room Foreman Was South Covington United Methodist Church Member

Bobbie Joe Tucker, 77, of 820 Oneida Trail, Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, October 19, 2014 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor.

He was born January 4, 1937, in Covington, a son of the late Ellis Coleman and Kathleen Fridley Tucker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ellis Tucker, Jr, and two sisters, Louise Bland and Polly Rose.

Mr. Tucker retired in 1999 as a foreman in the Beater Room after 43 years of service at MeadWestvaco.

He was a member of South Covington United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Jean Miller Tucker, of Covington, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday October 23, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside in Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Church Cole officiating.

Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.

Those attending the service should gather at Arritt Funeral Home by 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The family suggests that donations in Bobbie Joe's name be made to the South Covington United Methodist Church, 1911 S. Kadel Ave.,Covington, VA 24426.
