Obituary for Livonia Ruth (Sugie) Estes Caldwell Livonia Ruth (Sugie) Estes Caldwell
Former James Lee's Employee Was New Castle Native

Livonia Ruth (Sugie) Estes Caldwell, 93, of The Brian Center Health and Rehab in Low Moor, Virginia, formerly of Scott Hill Retirement Complex, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the Brian Center.

She was born in New Castle, Virginia on August 26, 1921, a daughter of the late Livonia Edwin and Lula Williams Estes.

She was a member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church and was a retired administrative assistant for James Lee & Sons of Glasgow, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Caldwell; a sister, Lelia Walton King; a brother Arthur R. "Bud" Estes; a special nephew, Chalmer C. Walton, III; a special great-nephew, Chalmer C. Walton IV; two half brothers; and a half sister.

She is survived by a niece, Cindy Curtis and husband, Carlos; two nephews, Jack Walton and wife, Karen, and Dickie Walton and wife, Linda, all of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Tyree; a brother-in-law, Herbert H. "Bunk" Caldwell; and several other nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes her body has been cremated.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in Crown Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Father Thomas McHenry officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in her memory to the Residents Activity Fund of the Brian Center, C/O Donna Fisher, 100 ARH Lane, Low Moor, VA 24457 or to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, P. O. Box 83, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

Her family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care and concern she received from the entire staff at the Brian Center.
