James Andrew Horne, Sr., 76, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, Va.

Born March 30, 1938 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Charles A. Horne and Cora Lee Bane Horne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Horne retired from I.B.E.W. as an electrician with thirty eight years of service.

Jimmy loved to hunt and fish and was a avid gardener and provided lots of produce to families in the community for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Mary F. Horne; four children, James A. Horne, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Rita Faye Webster, Rebecca A. Horne, Charles Kevin Horne and wife, Teresa; six siblings, Wilford Horne, Stella Williams, Frances Moore, Gladys Campbell, Betty Moore, Peggy Fitzgerald; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Horace Douty officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
