Obituary for William Henry Moody William Henry Moody
Former Owner Of Moody Homes Was Active In His Community

William Henry Moody, 73, of Covington, Virginia, died Saturday, November 1, 2014, in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Moody was born April 12, 1941, a son of the late H.F. and Sallie Carter Moody.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, William Francis Moody.

He retired in 2012 as the owner of Moody Homes, Inc. in Covington and had served as Chairman of the Board of the American Manufactured Housing Association.

Bill was a former member of the Board of Directors and a Past President of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism and a former member of the Board of Directors of the State Bank of the Alleghanies.

He was a member of Covington Lodge #171, AF & AM, Clifton Forge Shrine Club, Covington Kiwanis Club,Covington Lodge #610, Loyal Order of Moose and the South Covington United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Katie Caldwell Moody, of Covington; two sons, Todd Moody of Covington and Mark Moody and his wife, Miriam, of New Bern, N.C.; one sister, Barbara Jacock and her husband, Dave of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Steven Todd Moody, Brandi Moody Smith,Emily Arrena Moody, Alex Danielle Moody, Kevin and Danielle Boyd, Melanie Boyd and Andrew and Christine Boyd; seven great grandchildren, Malayah Allen, Kolton Moody, Kiercyn Clark, Wyatt Smith, Karis Smith, Annalee Smith and Paisley Smith; three brothers-in-law,J ack and Juanita Caldwell, Buck and Vickie Caldwell, Pat and Linda Caldwell; four nephews, Scott and Rochelle Jacock, Seth and Danielle Caldwell, Ricky and Tanya Caldwell, Christopher and Jenna Chance; and two nieces, Patti and Haynes Adams and Andrea and Jamie Love.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home in Covington with the Rev. Chuck Cole officiating.

Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park with graveside rites conducted by Covington Lodge #171, AF & AM.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home. The family suggests that donations in Mr. Moody's name be made to the UVA Cancer Center. Online guest registration is available at www.arrittfuneralhome.com.
