Obituary for Donald Kenneth Frazier Donald Kenneth Frazier
Covington Resident Was Korean War Veteran, Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church Member

Mr. Donald Kenneth Frazier, age 88, of Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Woodlands Nursing Home, Clifton Forge.

He was the husband of the late Gwendolyn Treynor Frazier.

Mr. Frazier was born August 3, 1926 in Covington, the son of the late Garnett Davis Frazier and Thelma Long Frazier.

He was a lifetime resident of this community.

Kenneth served with the 3rd Division of the United States Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific and China occupation. After the war until he was honorably discharged in 1946.

Kenneth was employed in the Fiber Department of the former Hercules, Inc and retired from Edgemont Service Station.

He was a member of Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Frazier was also a member of the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Kenneth enjoyed being in the outdoors, was a NASCAR fan who loved to cheer for his favorite driver, Richard Petty, and was an avid University of Virginia fan.

Mr. Frazier is survived by two daughters, Diane F. Lambert of Covington and Marsha Hayner and husband, Mike of Clifton Forge; David Walls and wife, Lou and Jerry Lambert; four grandchildren, Susan Carper, Joni Jones, Amy Burkholder and husband, Evan and Jeremy Lambert; six great grandchildren, Skyler, Shayna and Summer Jones, Madelyn and Garrett Carper, and Caleb Burkholder; one brother, Garland E. Frazier and wife, Pam of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Gray Boy.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Frazier was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Pallbearers will be Buzzy Ross, Roger W. Hager, Tommy Meeks, Danny L. Rodgers, Greg Tucker and Terry Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Trainer, Rex Selleck and Pat Malone.

The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home and at other times, at his residence, 1416 S. Franklin Ave, Covington.
