Covington High School Administrative Assistant Dies At Age 46

Dionne Jefferson Moore, 45, of 1318 S. Day Place, Covington, Virginia, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the University Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

She was born June 2, 1969 in Clifton Forge, a daughter of Christine Hatcher Jones of Covington and the late Curtis Jefferson.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Jefferson, and a sister, Lula Hatcher.

Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Virginia Union University in Richmond and was employed as Administrative Assistant for Covington High School. She was a member of the Concerned Christian Baptist Church, where she served on the usher board.

She enjoyed watching and attending school sports.

Surviving are her husband, Keith Moore, Sr. of Covington; four children, Meagan Jefferson of Covington; Morgan Jefferson of Roanoke; SaÕMane Moore and Keith Moore, Jr., both of Covington; two grandchildren, Kinsley Jefferson and Benjamin E. Grimes, both of Covington; siblings, Patrice Coles of Clifton Forge; Sonya Billups of Vinton; Curtis Jefferson, Jr. and Brian Jefferson, both of Covington; Stephanie Hunter; Mark Jefferson and Gina Nemo, all of Clifton Forge; 4 nieces, 5 nephews, 2 great nieces, 4 great nephews, numerous cousins and many friends.

The funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Curfman Hall at Covington High School with the Rev William O. Hickman III officiating, assisted by the Rev. Matthew Barnett.

Following the service the family will receive friends.

Memorial donations in Dionne's name may be made to the Covington High School Quarterback Club.
