Obituary for Marcella Elaine Weade Marcella Elaine Weade
U. S. Army Veteran Was Library Science Professional

Marcella Elaine Weade, 53, Wichita Falls, Texas, and formerly of Covington, Virginia, died Friday November 21, 2014.

She was born May 29, 1961 at Patrick Air Force Base in Cape Canaveral, Florida, a daughter of Bill and Mary Brooks Barber of Covington and the late Malcolm E. Weade.

Marcella was a graduate of the class of 1979 of Covington High School.

She served 8 years in the United States Army, with tours in Japan, Germany and Texas, and also graduated from Army Intelligence School at Fort Devens, Massachusetts.

Following her army career, she was a graduate of Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts degree, as well as the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Library Science degree.

She was a member of Good News Fellowship Church in Covington.

In addition to her parents she is survived by two daughters, Melissa Sutton and her husband, Patrick of Eyota Minnesota and Michelle Welsh of Olney, Texas, and one son, Michael Frank Weade and Phillip Lane of Wichita Falls, Texas. Eight Grandchildren, Zoe, Maxim, Cecilia, Chloe, Richard, Claire, Ava and Madison; three sisters, Marjorie Weade, Mary Beth Weade, and Mandy Arritt and her husband, Jonathan, all of Covington; four brothers, Michael Weade, Malcom Weade and his wife, Kerry, all of Covington; Billy Barber and his wife, B.J. of Wise Va; and Bob Barber and his wife, Amy of Lillington, NC. She is also survived by a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday November 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Noel officiating.

Following the service, the family will receive friends at the funeral home.
