Kenneth Wayne Dunbar, 50, of 74 Anthony Circle, Waynesboro, Virginia, died unexpectedly Wednesday December 17, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was born August 9, 1964 in Clifton Forge, a son of Cathryn Hayslett Dunbar and the late Kenneth Cessler Dunbar, Jr.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving as a cook, and was employed by DSC as a certified forklift operator.

He loved bowling, Nascar, Karaoke, and being a jokester.

He always put his family first.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Dunbar, of Waynesboro; three daughters, Kristal Dunbar and fiance, Steven Mead, of Clifton Forge; Kimberly Dunbar and Brittany Dunbar, both of Waynesboro; his mother, Cathryn Dunbar, of Clifton Forge; four sisters, Brenda Caldwell and boyfriend, Brian, Kathy Dunbar, Tina Dunbar, all of Clifton Forge, and Treva Morris and husband, Doug, of Selma; two grandchildren, Steven Mead and Adam Mead, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, his best friend from New York, Bill Lawrence, best friend from the military, Damon (Goose) Newton, and a close family friend, who was like his brother, Wes Raub.

In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.

A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Reverend Robert McRae officiating. The family received friends at Nicely Funeral Home following the service. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in his memory to the Augusta Regional SPCA, 33 Archery Lane, Staunton, VA 24401.
