Henry Loving Coffey Jr., 87, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Golden Living Center.

He was born January 9, 1927 in Amherst County, a son of the late Henry Loving Coffey Sr. and Ellen Sally Campbell Coffey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Inez Flint "Poley" Coffey and a grandson, Jonas.

Surviving Mr. Coffey are three sons: Freeman Coffey and wife, Mary of Covington, Wesley Coffey and wife, Margie of Buena Vista, Roger Coffey and wife, Tammie of Whiteville N.C.; and a brother, Maurice Coffey; two sisters, Elsie Coffey and Beulah Edwards; six grandchildren, Jeff, Jessy, Fern, Megan, Emily, Lindsey; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, VA 24450.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1702 Chestnut Ave, Buena Vista. with the Rev. W. A. Mills and Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
