Mrs. Margaret Armstrong Wood, age 102, of Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the Brian Center Ð Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was the wife of the late Howard Eugene Wood, Sr.

Mrs. Wood was born November 23, 1912 in Highland County, the daughter of the late George William Armstrong and Emma Viola McNett.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Wood is survived by one son Howard E. Wood, Jr. and wife, Gail of Covington; two grandchildren, Robert Eugene "Robbie" Wood and Jennifer Wood Crawford and husband, Tommy; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by four brothers, Myron Armstrong, Lloyd Armstrong, Clem Armstrong, and Don Armstrong, and two sisters, Lona Gutshall and Mae Harding.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Michael C. Fleenor officiating.

Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 11:30 a.m. until service time at Loving Funeral Home.
