Collierstown Baptist Church Member Dies At Age 78
Betty Ann Newell, 78, of Lexington, Virginia, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Heritage Hall in Lexington.
Born January 3, 1937, in Lexington a daughter of the late James Samuel Newell and Edith Clark Newell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Carter and Phyllis Strange; two brothers, Lloyd Newell and Wayne Lee Newell.
Betty was a member of the Collierstown Baptist Church. Surviving are one sister, Roberta Hockman; one brother, Malcolm "Mac" Newell.
The family would like to thank Envoy of Staunton, Augusta Medical, and Heritage Hall for all the care that they provided for Betty.
A private funeral service will be conducted with the Rev. Jesse Krystowiak officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Betty to Collierstown Baptist Church, 3926 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450.
