Obituary for Calvin Ray Worley, Sr. Calvin Ray Worley, Sr.
U. S. Air Force Veteran Was Retired Westvaco Operator

Mr. Calvin Ray Worley, Sr., age 77, of Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, January 22, 2015, at his residence.

He was the husband of the late Agnes Iris Nora Moran Worley.

Mr. Worley was born May 18, 1937 in Covington, the son of the late Glenny Morris Worley and Annie Mae Rea Worley.

He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Calvin was employed as an operator by Westvaco, retiring with forty years of service.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the American Legion Post 4. Calvin was an avid University of Virginia fan.

Mr. Worley is survived by two sons, Calvin Ray Worley, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Covington and Glenn Heath Worley and wife, Amy of Clifton Forge; one daughter, Jo Anne Carpenter and husband, Jeffrey of Goose Creek, SC; six grandchildren, Ariel Carpenter, Ian Carpenter, Brittany Mays, Nicholas Worley, Bret Worley and Kevin Worley; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2015, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Price officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Graveside rites by Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Pallbearers will be Ian Carpenter, Bret Worley, Neal Kemper, Stephen Rice, Jerry Rice and Roy Redmond.

Honorary pallbearers will be Darfow Rice and members of the Assorted Nuts Bowling Team.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes be made to St. Jude's, P.O. Box 10000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
