Christ Methodist Church Member Was Well-Known Babysitter

Zula May Stinespring Tingler, 88, of Covington, Virginia, went to her Heavenly Home, Wednesday February 11, 2015.

She was born May 24, 1926 in Covington, the first born of Harry Lee Stinespring, Sr. and Mary Lee Hill Stinespring.

In addition to her parents, Zula was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, as well as two brothers, Jack Stinespring and Harry Stinespring, Jr., and one sister, Teeny Plogger.

A lifelong resident of Covington, Mrs. Tingler was raised in the Epworth Methodist Church, which later became Christ United Methodist Church.

She was always a very active member and enjoyed time with her church family.

Zula was well-known to many as a babysitter for over 20 years. She always poured out much love to all those around her.

Surviving are four children, Marsha and her husband, Larry Hambric, Sr, of Covington; Henry "John" Tingler Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Roanoke; Tammy and her husband, Gary, Dilley of Eagle Rock and Harry and his wife, Gina Tingler of Covington.

She was a grandmother to Larry Hambric, Jr. and his wife, Maria; Kevin Hambric; Angela Tingler Stinnett and husband, Wayne; Kimberly Tingler Hartman and her husband, Frankie; Chad Nickell and his wife, Ashleigh; Andrea Dilley Frame and her husband Chris; Linsey Dilley; Kelley Tingler and Adam Tingler.

She was blessed with great grandchildren, Carmen Hambric, Matthew Hambric, Laura Hambric, Ana Hambric, Seth Hambric, Ethan Hambric, Elijah Hambric, Sofia Hambric, Jeremiah Hambric, Aaron Hambric, Allison Hambric, Ryan Hambric, Brandon Stinnett and wife Megan; Taylor Stinnett; Trae Stinnett and Samuel Nickell; great great grandchildren, Kira Stinnett and Laila Stinnett; one sister, Betty Wilkerson of Clifton Forge, and one brother, Robert Stinespring of Danville; her special friend, Rachel Persinger of The Woodlands and her honorary "daughter", Christy Lee, of Mountain Regional Hospice.

Since Zula was an anatomical donor, a memorial service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, Sunday February 22, 2015 at 4:00 p.m.

The family suggests that donations in Zula's name be made to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to Christ United Methodist Church, 200 E. Fudge St., Covington, VA 24426.
