Obituary for Mary Griffith Curtis Mary Griffith Curtis
Former C&P Telephone Company Employee Was Lone Star Advent Christian Church Member

Mary Griffith Curtis, age 90, of 2403 Forty-two Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center, Clifton Forge.

She was born June 12, 1924 in Harrison County, West Virginia, to the late Andrew Jackson Griffith and Hessie Higgins Griffith.

She was a homemaker and worked for Chesapeake and Potomic Telephone Company.

She was a member of Lone Star Advent Christian Church, and past Sunday School Secretary and past member of the Advent Christian Mission Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Ollie Curtis in 2004; her son, Phillip Curtis in 1981; one sister; and six brothers.

She is survived by a sister, Kathryn Merryman of Clarksburg, WV; a number of nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, her niece, Brenda Higgins; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Loving.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Doug Moore and Reverend Louis Dodd officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will visit with friends on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Service at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Lone Star Advent Christian Church, 4704 Nicelytown Road, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
