Obituary for Mabel Allen Pierce Mabel Allen Pierce
Retired Dietician Was Iron Gate First Baptist Church Member

Mabel Allen Pierce, age 96, of 23675 Botetourt Road, Eagle Rock, Virginia, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at The Brian Center - Alleghany, Low Moor.

She was born December 1, 1918 in Botetourt County to the late William and Rosa Hardman Allen.

She retired from the Dietary Department of the former Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital, Clifton Forge.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iron Gate, where she served as Deaconess and Mother of the Church, and was also a member of the Stitch and Chatter Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton J. Pierce, Sr.; three sons, Richard Pierce, Russell Pierce, and Clinton Pierce, Jr.; a daughter, Shirley Foster; a granddaughter, Shelia Foster; a sister, Ernestine Allen; and a brother, Bernard Allen.

She is survived by four daughters, Juanita Christian of Columbus, OH, Margie Matlock and husband, Ronnie of Columbus, OH, Deborah Adams and husband, Robert of Roanoke, and Sylvia Jones and husband, Leonard of Covington; a son, Ronald Pierce and wife, Karen of Waynesboro; two daughters-in-law, Louise Pierce of Arlington and Jackie Pierce of Clifton Forge; a sister, Pauline Ellison of Arlington; two brothers, William Allen, Jr. and wife, Carolyn of Iron Gate, and Donald Allen and wife, Geraldine of Clifton Forge; a sister-in-law, Joyce Pierce; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Leonard Allen of Arlington; and numerous close friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Matthew T. Barnette officiating, and Reverend Harold Preston delivering the eulogy.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 918 Church Street, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
