Dorothy Bowman Cosby, 80, of 308 S. Marion Avenue, Covington, Virginia, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Covington, a daughter of the late Willie P. and Mary Lillian Chambers Bowman.

In addition her parents Mrs. Cosby was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Pood" Cosby in 2001; one daughter-in-law, Louise Cosby; one brother, Johnny Bowman and a grandson, Willie J. Cosby, Jr.

She was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are a daughter, Nadine Horton of Covington; one son, Billy Cosby of Covington; two grandsons, Edward M. Cosby and Susan Knupp of Covington and William "Boomie" Cosby of Covington and one granddaughter Dorothy "Dottie" Cosby of Richmond and five great grandchildren, Ka'tura Cosby, Raquann Mathews, Avion Brickhouse, Zoe Berryman and Isaiah Cooper.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pine Street Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Harper officiating.

The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
