Helen Frenche Beard Mason joined her heavenly parents, husband and siblings on March 13, 2015.

Born October 16, 1922, she was the wife of Garnett E. Beard and the daughter of Robert and Eva Childress.

Surviving is her daughter Wanda V. Mabry of Virginia Beach; and son, Ray (Johnny) VanNess and wife, Jeannie S. VanNess of Lexington; three grandsons, Tony Mabry, Ray VanNess III, Michael G. VanNess; two granddaughters, Mystic M. Schneider and Amanda V. Davis; great-grandsons, Evan Mabry, Cody and Austin Schneider and Nathan Davis; great-granddaughters, Rachael Mabry and Ashley Davis; sisters-in-law, Barbara Beard and Marjorie Beard; numerous nieces; and nephews.

A private graveside service for family members will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. 948, Lexington, VA 24450.
