Obituary for Bernice (Bunny) Slough Bernice (Bunny) Slough
Lifelong Glasgow Resident Dies

Bernice (Bunny) Slough, a lifelong resident of Glasgow, Virginia, died in her home, Saturday, March 21, 2015, surrounded by her daughters.

She was preceded in death by Lloyd Slough, her beloved husband of 56 years.

She is survived by her brother, Fred Fainter of Natural Bridge Station.

Bunny and Lloyd raised five daughters, all surviving, Benita Houff of Vinton, married to Jim Houff Jr., Barbara Slough of Glasgow, Beverly Newman of Terre Haute, Indiana, married to Steve Newman, Betty Slough of Afton, married to the late, William Shifflett, and Bobbie Hartman of Culpeper, married to Mark Hartman.

Bunny and Lloyd took great joy in their ten grandchildren; Todd Houff, married to Shannon; Matt Houff, Amanda Houff, Andrew Newman, Justin Newman, Alec Shifflett, Harris Shifflett, John Shifflett, Edgar Hartman, and Ruth Hartman.

Bunny was the fifth of six children of John and Nellie Fainter.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Fainter, and her sisters Ileta Rogers, Ruby Thompson, and Emilie Franklin.

Her life was marked by a fierce love of family. Her daughters, sons-in-laws and grandchildren will treasure their many memories of Bunny and Lloyd.

In accordance with Bunny's wishes, the family will hold a private graveside funeral service.

The family will receive friends and visitors Tuesday, March 24, 2015. at 1 p.m. in the Social Hall of Glasgow Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Glasgow Rescue Squad or Natural Bridge Fire Department.
