Obituary for Curtis Payne Taylor, Sr. Curtis Payne Taylor, Sr.
Alleghany County Native Worked With Independent Truck Drivers

Curtis Payne Taylor, Sr., age 74, of 100 Nicholas Drive, Box 493, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at The Woodlands in Clifton Forge.

He was born March 2, 1941 in Alleghany County, to the late Ernest Taylor, Jr. and Ala Frances Byer Taylor.

He was a retired laborer for Independent Truck Drivers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Donovan Taylor Chaplin; a son, Darrell Wayne Taylor; and two brothers, Jack Taylor and Jimmy Taylor.

He is survived by three daughters, Susan Ryder and husband, Tony of Hot Springs, Mary Guzman of Clifton Forge, and Brenda Wright of Covington; two sons, Curtis Taylor, Jr. and Dayton Taylor and wife, Miranda, both of Clifton Forge; two sisters, Betty Price and husband, Ralph and Erma Green and husband, George, both of Covington; three brothers, Ralph Taylor of Covington, Buck Taylor and wife, Margaret of Radford, and Herman Taylor and wife, Pat of Rich Patch; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Ernie Taylor and wife, Connie.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2015, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

No service will be held at this time.
