Cleva Gibson (Sissy) Sizemore, 78 of 824 Pocahontas Ave., Covington, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her residence.

She was born October 2, 1936 in Covington, a daughter of the late Marvin Gibson and Mary Elizabeth Meadows.

In addition to her parents, Sissy was preceded in death by her step mother, Polly Gibson, and a daughter, Carol Arrington in 2001; two brothers, Mark Gibson, and J. W. Meadows, and also a sister, Gaynelle Weese.

Mrs. Sizemore was formerly employed by Covington High School in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Covington Bible Church. Sissy was an avid bingo player.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Gerald Sizemore of Covington; two daughters, Lisa Higgins and her husband, Ruben, and Phyllis Phillips and her husband, Clinton, all of Covington; two sons, Wayne Sizemore and his wife, Dee Ann and Gerald Sizemore, Jr., all of Covington; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Missy Grim of Roanoke; and Ruby Tawney of North Carolina; three brothers, Buddy Gibson and his wife, Carlene; Vance Gibson and his wife, Kathy, all of Covington; and Buzzy Gibson and his wife, Shelby of Newport News; sisters-in-law, including Mary Etta Sizemore of Covington, Stanley and Nancy Burchfield, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, April 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Williams officiating.

The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
