Obituary for Gary Lee Wright Gary Lee Wright
U. S. Army Veteran Was Longtime Local Car Salesman

Mr. Gary Lee Wright, age 65, of Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, at his residence.

He was the husband of Connie Skelding Wright.

Mr. Wright was born July 5, 1949 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Jessie Warren Lee Wright and Ann Croyle Wright.

A lifetime resident of this community, he attended Alleghany High School.

Gary served his country as member of the United States Army stationed in Alaska.

Mr. Wright was employed as a car salesman by the Covington Motor Company.

He was of the Methodist faith. Gary was a member of American Legion Post 4 and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors especially fishing, camping, hunting and talking with people. He was an avid car enthusiast.

In addition to his wife, Connie Skelding Wright, Mr. Wright is survived by one daughter, Christy W. Hendrick of Lynchburg; two stepsons, Tony Nicely of Covington and Stephen Nicely of Oregon, OH; one sister, Brenda Jean "Jeannie" Carpenter of Covington; seven grandchildren; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2015, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Mark Shepard, Glenn Bailey, Ray Thacker, Edward Oiler, Seth Richmond, Aubrey Bowling, David Skelding, Chester Smith and Sterling R. Snedegar, II. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Morgan, Larry Nicely, Durwin Waddell and Leon Middleton.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Falling Spring Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 880, Covington, VA 24426.
