Alleghany County Native Dies At Age 91

Nora Elizabeth Noel Webb, age 91, of 803 Frazier Hill Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at her residence.

She was born November 19, 1923 in Alleghany County to the late Benjamin Harrison Noel and Eva Clark Noel.

She was a retired cafeteria food service worker from Clifton Forge Public Schools and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Covington.

She loved dancing, sewing, crafts, gardening, and watching her granddaughters dance.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Nelson Webb in 2009; a brother, John Noel; and five sisters, Marie Hayslett, Irene Bryan, Margaret Unroe, Frances Mahaney, and Loretta Putnam.

She is survived by two daughters, Ginger Elmore of Rich Patch and Sherry Watts and husband Charlie of Clifton Forge; six grandchildren, Lisa Curtis and husband, Bob, Tim Elmore and wife, Brittany, Kathy Elmore and Tony, Machelle Dressler and husband, Allen, Tammy Persinger and husband, Mike, and Kim Mullins and husband, Anthony; eleven great grandchildren, Tristan Elmore, Carlee Elmore, Mazi Grace Elmore, Meirco Elmore, Jared Anderson, Daniel Curtis, Kenneth Allen Farren, Corey Brian Persinger, Chloe Renee Persinger, Koedi Nicole Anglin and Joshua Wayne Anglin; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Elder Basil Sampson officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, Clifton Forge.

Pallbearers will be Allen Dressler, Anthony Mullins, Mike Persinger, Tim Elmore, John Michael Shaffer, Tony Smith and Bob Curtis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Unroe, David Unroe, Bucky Webb, James Dobbs and Eddie Putnam.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the residence. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, P. O.
