Obituary for Charles Lee Hanna Charles Lee Hanna
Washington, D. C. Native Was Hanna Estate Property Manager

Mr. Charles Lee Hanna, 72, of Covington, Virginia, passed away at home, Thursday, April 9, 2015.

Charles Lee was born in Washington, D.C. with his twin sister, Dr. Midge Hanna, Feb. 4, 1943, to Dr. and Mrs. Michael Hanna.

Charles Lee grew up in Covington, graduated from Covington High School in 1960, attended Notre Dame University, and Roanoke College. He had a life-long love of music. As a youth he sang in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church choir. He was one of Nell Fleishman's favorite singers at Covington High School and was a soloist in the Minstrel shows.

Charles Lee was the retired property manager for the Hanna estate.

He was an avid gardener. He was a history buff, especially of World War II aircraft, antique autos, and railroading. He was an amateur photographer and model railroad enthusiast, especially of Lionel products. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He closely followed NASCAR.

Charles Lee was a devoted brother, uncle, and nephew in the Hanna family.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Hanna; two brothers, Dr. Michael I. Hanna Jr. of Anniston, Ala., and Kevin Hanna, of Covington; two sisters, Dr. Midge Hanna of Ellicott City, Md., and Ms. Anne Hanna of Covington; two cousins, Dr. Peter Hanna of Reston, and Ms. Patricia Meyer of Longmont, Colo.; and eight nieces and nephews, Tara Clary, Jamie Hanna, Rachel Hanna, Rebecca Hanna, Alex Hanna, Pepper Hanna, Johnny Hanna, and Paul Hanna.

The Hanna family would like to thank all involved in caring for Charles Lee. Special thanks go out to Mountain Regional Hospice, especially Marie Dudley. Father Tom Collins provided excellent spiritual guidance in Charles Lee's final weeks.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Covington, with the Rev. Tom Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorial tributes can be made to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422.
