Covington Native Was Registered Nurse, VFW Auxiliary Member

Anne Gwynne Caldwell Wright, age 68, of 1373 Upper Craig Creek Road, Catawba, Virginia, died Monday, April 20, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC.

She was born April 29, 1946 in Covington to the late Ray Miller Caldwell and Janie Christine Finney Caldwell.

She was a registered nurse for the Western Virginia Regional Jail, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved her family vacations, her pets, flowers, cooking, and laughing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wright, and a sister, Mary Sue "Sis" Martin.

She is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Hall of Clifton Forge; two sons, Rob Duncan of Clifton Forge, and Sean McIntosh and wife, Amy of Cape Coral, FL; a brother, David R. Caldwell and wife, Kathy of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Ryan Hall, Bailey Hall, Sydney McIntosh and Landon McIntosh; a nephew, Morgan Caldwell and wife, Amber of Roanoke; special cousins, Dana and Vince Caldwell; and her special little buddies, Murphy and Prissy.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Glenn Clements officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

Pallbearers will be Linnie Crance, Richard Wallace, Scott Dew, Jared Wallace, Richard Duncan and Wesley Duncan. Morgan Caldwell will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Thomas Road Baptist Church, 1 Mountain View Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502, or the Alleghany Humane Society, P. O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
