Obituary for James Wallace Smith James Wallace Smith
Anchor Hocking Company Retiree Was Avid Outdoorsman

James Wallace Smith, 77, of 818 Mount Pleasant Drive, Covington, Virginia, died Tuesday June 9, 2015 at his residence.

He was born October 27, 1937 in Highland County, the son of the late John Francis Smith and Flora A Rhodes Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted Smith and Raymond Smith, and also by four sisters, Linda Meadows, Sylvia Wilcher, Mildred Holton, and Frances Simmons.

Mr. Smith retired from the Anchor Hocking Company in New Jersey as a fork lift driver.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved and cherished his family.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, June Entsminger Smith; two sons, Mark Steven Smith and his wife, Rhonda; David Fitzgerald Smith and his wife, Beth Ann; two daughters, Julie Rae Enloe and her husband, and Susan Renee Smith and Thomas Wykle; a granddaughter, Angela Renee Giegerich, and Corey Doyle; 3 step great grandchildren, Benjamin Douglas Moore, Jennifer Renee Moore, and Amanda Gail Coleman; four sisters, Gloria King, Gaynell Cash, Hilda Smith Mosley, and Nettie Rodriguez; and 40 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 13, 2015 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Arritt Funeral Home.
