Rebecca (Becki) Johnson Sorrells, 60, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away, Friday, June 12, 2015, in the comfort of her own home.

Born on May 16, 1955, in Lexington, she was the daughter of Dorothy Shafer Johnson and the late Rudolph Johnson.

Mrs. Sorrells was a member of the First Brethren Church, Buena Vista.

Surviving are her husband, Maverick N. Sorrells; one son, Maverick S. Sorrells and wife, Sarah; one daughter, Jennifer B. Sorrells and significant other, Scott Knick; one step-son, Eric Sorrells and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Kayleigh Rosson, Brody Sorrells, Jacob Sorrells, Brylen Wade and Kyle Knick; and two brothers, Rudolph "Rudy" Johnson, Jr. and significant other, Deb, and Darrell Johnson and his wife, Trish; mother–in-law, Lois Potter; father–in-law, Melvin Sorrells and wife, Juanita; a host of other family and other friends.

Becki has touched the lives of many people in the community. She was known by many as "The Yard Sale Queen". She started babysitting in her early teens before going to work at E. R. Moore for 18 years. Becki resumed her passion for babysitting in 1988 and continued doing so for 23 years until she began her battle against ovarian cancer in 2011. The Buena Vista Rescue Squad Auxiliary recognized Becki as an Honorary Member.

The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015, at the First Brethren Church. Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2015, at the First Brethren Church with Pastor Mike Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
