Obituary for Garland Wayne McDonald Garland Wayne McDonald
Former Clifton Forge Resident Was Minister, School Teacher In Kentucky

Mr. Garland Wayne McDonald, age 67, of Ashland, KY, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

Mr. McDonald was born December 30, 1947 in Clifton Forge, the son of Harold Garland "Grogan" McDonald and the late Margaret Ellen Shiflett.

He was a graduate of Covington High School and Kentucky Christian College.

Garland was employed as a schoolteacher in the Ashland, KY school district and was also a minister there.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

Mr. McDonald is survived by two sons, Christopher Dean McDonald of Roanoke and Wesley Wayne McDonald of Ashland, KY; one daughter, Amanda Rae Cole and her husband, Russ of Catlettsburg, KY; five grandchildren, Hanna Danielle McDonald, Lauren Elizabeth McDonald and Kristen Delaney McDonald of Roanoke and Charles Reed Cole and Violet Cole of Catlettsburg, KY; one sister, Sandra Ellen Snyder of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June23, 2015, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
