Sylvia Jean Bayne Burdette, 71, of 714 Rose Street, Clifton Forge died Friday, July 24, 2015 at her residence.

She was born February 7, 1944 in Clifton Forge, to the late Roosevelt W. and Icy Young Bayne.

She was a member of the First Christian Disciples of Christ Church in Clifton Forge, a former member of the Auxiliary of the Clifton Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad, and a retired customer service representative with Wells Fargo Bank.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis "Sonny" Bayne, and a sister, Evelyn "Tennie" Persinger.

She is survived by three sons, Gary Burdette, Jr., Reggie Burdette, and Dale Burdette and his fiancee, Sabrina Thacker, all of Clifton Forge; a sister, Annie Loan, of Clifton Forge; two brothers, Bernard Bayne of Fl, Roger Bayne, of North Carolina, seven grandchildren, Jacquelyn "Jacy", Laurel, Shelby, Jacob "Jake", Elaysia, Brooklynn, and Brock Burdette, a number of nieces and nephews and her special Rose Street neighbors.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge with the Revered Bill Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at Dale's residence, 1308 Madison Ave. Clifton Forge.
