Obituary for Iona (Tootie) McKemy Price Iona (Tootie) McKemy Price
Rockbridge County Native Was Retired Dietician

Iona (Tootie) McKemy Price, 88, of 1906 Oakwood Drive, Clifton Forge, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at her residence.

She was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia, on May 27, 1927, a daughter of the late Emmett And May McKemy Agnor.

She was a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church, a retired dietician with the Liberty House Nursing Home, and a member of the Women of The Moose Clifton Forge Lodge.

Tootie liked to crochet and loved to fish - "she has gone to heaven to fish with God".

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Taylor Price in December of 1993, and a daughter-in-law, Amy Price.

She is survived by a daughter Cindy Price Rice and husband, Keven, of Clifton Forge; two sons, Gary Taylor Price and wife, Vicki, of Clifton Forge; Gregory McKinley Price of Covington, a sister, Annie Loan, of Clifton Forge; three brothers, Harry McKemy, Thurman McKemy, Ray McKemy; four grandchildren, Tiffany Price Gutshall and husband, Coleman, of Hickory, NC, Lauren Rice Glass and husband, Todd, of Salem, John Taylor Rice, of Salem, Austin McKinley Price, of Covington, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Mausoleum at Alleghany Memorial Park with Reverend J. Glenn Linthicum officiating. Entombment will immediately follow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gregory Price, Keven Rice, John Rice, Austin Price, Todd Glass, Gary Price, Coleman Gutshall.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at Nicely Funeral Home in Clifton Forge. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in her memory to the Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
