Obituary for Dorine Christella Weaver Dorine Christella Weaver
Natural Bridge Resident Was Former Teacher, Allstate Analyst

Dorine Christella Weaver of Natural Bridge, Virginia, departed this life to be with her heavenly father on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the age of 62.

Dorine passed peaceful after resolute battle with cancer in her childhood home in the company of loved ones.

Dorine was born on January 5, 1953 in Lexington.

She graduated from Natural Bridge High School and attended James Madison University, where she graduated with a degree in speech therapy.

After teaching in the school system for several years Dorine began a career with Allstate, where she retired as a PQS Senior Analyst.

Dorine was honored to serve as Church Secretary at 1st Baptist Church Natural Bridge in Natural Bridge, where she resided.

Whether it was church, family or work Dorine dedicated her full focus and performed with the utmost precision. Family and friends fondly remember the professional demeanor and her philosophy that if something wasn't perfect then it still required work. This ideology allowed Dorine to remain resolute as she battled cancer well beyond the time expected by medical professionals. Dorine did not complain or lament her medical status which inspired family, friends, fellow cancer survivors, and even the medical professionals who oversaw her care.

Dorine will be greatly missed but her example of dignity in life from beginning to the end of transition will be a lasting inspiration to all who knew her.

Dorine is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Diamond, and brother, Robert S. Diamond.

She is survived by her mother, Bessie Flippen; father, Andrew Flippen; brother, Phillip Diamond and his two sons; son, Gregory McKinley Weaver Jr.; several aunts; and uncles; nephews; nieces; and cousins; two beloved Dobermans, and all who had the great fortune to have known her.

A service will be held at Harrison Funeral Home (714 South Main St., Lexington, VA 24450) on Friday, August 28, at 11 a.m. Following the service family and friends are encouraged to attend the repass at the Natural Bridge Firehouse to allow the family a moment to attend a private ceremony at her childhood home.

Dorine has asked that in lieu of flowers, individuals make a donation to charities focused on veterans or animal care/rescue, or to a local church. Donations to the Natural Bridge Firehouse would also be appropriate. The family would like to thank all who have offered love, support, prayer, encouragement, and acts of kindness. We would also like to offer a special thanks to Rockbridge Area Hospice whose support made it possible for Dorine to transition comfortably in her childhood home.

Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
